That’s “Field Trip” as defined in the Lee/Kirby Dictionary, which means you’d better pack that bag lunch in unstable molecules and strap yourself in for a trip around the universe beyond your wildest imagination!
First stop: A little visit to the neighbor’s place, and hanging with the incomparable Inhumans and titanic team-up against Maximus the Mad!
Second stop: Europe. Paris is beautiful in the springtime, but that’s nothing. According to the brochure, Latveria’s lovely year round. You might want to take that visitor’s guide with a grain of salt, though. The savvy traveler never trusts a Chamber of Commerce run by Doombots.
Third stop: Down under. Way down under for a big-time battle with the Mole Man!
Last stop: Now here’s a trip that’s far out. The ever lovin’ blue-eyed Thing gets whisked away on a galactic tour as a gladiator in the scurrilous Skrulls’ slave arena! If that’s not enough outer-space exotica for ya, then welcome yourself to a world wrapped in the Roarin’ Twenties!

THE FOUNTAIN HC
Written by Darren Aronofsky, adapted by Kent Williams, art and cover by Williams.
Darren Aronofsky proved himself a filmmaker to watch with his provocative debut, Pi. His follow-up, Requiem for a Dream, continued the accolades, receiving Golden Globe and Academy Award nominations. His latest accomplishment, however, comes straight to comics in the form of The Fountain, a gorgeously painted, oversized original graphic novel about the timeless truths of life, love and death.
Working with acclaimed painter Kent Williams, The Fountain crisscrosses through three distinct time periods: 1535, during an ancient Mayan war; the present day, following one doctor's desperate search for the cure for cancer; and the far future through the vast exotic reaches of space. Interweaving these three periods, The Fountain follows Tomas -- warrior, doctor, explorer -- as he feverishly tries to beat death and prolong the life of the woman he loves.
A story so grand, one medium couldn't contain it, Aronofsky's feature film version of The Fountain will be released by New Regency and Warner Bros. Pictures, starring Tony Award-winning actor Hugh Jackman (X-Men, Van Helsing, The Boy from Oz) and acclaimed actress Rachel Weisz (Constantine, The Mummy, the upcoming The Constant Gardener). But before he did, the filmmaker wanted The Fountain to be realized the unique storytelling power and artistic beauty of the graphic novel. Together, Aronofsky and Williams deliver what might be considered the ultimate director's cut. This deluxe volume also features an afterword by Aronofsky. A softcover edition will be solicited in conjuction with the film's release.

Rhino box collects all of Ray Charles' Atlantic recordings

Out on Sept. 20, Ray Charles Pure Genius: The Complete Atlantic Recordings (1952-1959) will include just what the title says, plus 27 unreleased and rare cuts.

According to Billboard, the set includes classics such as "What'd I Say," "Swanee River Rock (Talkin' Bout That River)," "A Fool for You," "I've Got a Woman," "Drown in My Own Tears" and "It Should've Been Me."

Additional details:

The rarities disc covers a mix of session outtakes, bits of dialog and songs recorded in 1959 in a hotel room, giving the listener an insight into Charles' creative process. All but three of the tracks have never been released and several stem from a 1953 rehearsal with Atlantic co-founder Ahmet Ertegun, which was dramatized in last year's Jamie Foxx-starring biopic, "Ray."

In addition, the box sports a DVD of Charles' 1960 performance at the Newport Jazz Festival, which has never been commercially available, as well as an interview of Ertegun by "Ray" director Taylor Hackford.

"Complete Atlantic Recordings" will come housed in a replica 1950s record player case. The accompanying 80-page booklet reproduces the liner notes from Charles' original Atlantic LPs and features a new essay by Ertegun and a historical overview by Charles biographer David Ritz.

The set is available for pre-order now from Amazon.
