Coming soon: Carl Wilson's rare 1981 solo album

Out Sept. 29.

Details:
Carl Wilson took a hiatus from The Beach Boys in an attempt to try to do something slightly more aggressive than what he could do within the confines of the group. His first solo album was released in early 1981 and was crafted at the Caribou Ranch studios that were owned by James William Guercio, who also served as producer. This is the first time this compact disc will be available inb the U.S. It s only other appearance on CD was a Japanese edition that was available for a very short time.

The centerpiece of the album is the absolutely divine Heaven , which Carl would often sing in the later stages of his touring days with the Beach Boys. Carl never rocked harder than he does on The Right Lane and the album closer is Carl s remembrance of simpler times, the beautiful & haunting, Seems So Long Ago .

The in-depth essay is by Billy Hinsche (Dino, Desi & Billy, Beach Boys touring band) who was a member of Carl s band in support of this release. Billy s first hand accounts of life on the road with the group draws us right into the tour experience. This release is mastered from the original master tapes by Vic Anesini and has never sounded better.
