Famous for his work with the Dave Brubeck Quartet in the 1950s, Brubeck landed on the cover of Time magazine, sold loads of his LP Time Out (featuring DBQ saxophonist Paul Desmond's hit composition "Take Five"), and made small group jazz a big draw on the U.S. college campus circuit.

He was a great ambassador for the U.S. and jazz worldwide and an advocate for civil and human rights. An all-around great guy, who will be missed.
