Gonzo Tapes collects Hunter S. Thompson spoken-word recordings

Coming out soon from Shout Factory:

Hunter S. Thompson introduced the world to gonzo journalism through his masterpiece Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas, a drug-addled journey in search of the American dream. Throughout his journalistic career, Thompson practiced a first-person approach where he inserted himself into the story, often recording events on cassette as they occurred rather than taking notes. On October 28 we'll release The Gonzo Tapes: The Life And Work Of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson, a 5-CD box set featuring Thompson's narrated notes that ultimately create a fascinating look into the mind of a literary legend, not to mention an incredibly unique character. A companion piece to the new film of the same name, the set includes a 44-page booklet that includes track notes as well as archival photos courtesy of the Thompson estate.
