Booksteve weighs in on "Shazam" screenwriter John August's doltish comments about old Captain Marvel comics being essentially worthless.
August tells us more recent Cap comics written by "Real World" boy Judd Winick are more instructive in developing a film incarnation of the character than the classic tales created by Otto Binder and C.C. Beck. I foresee a dull, "serious" movie Cap that's essentially Superman with a lightning bolt on his chest. And it'll probably be as uexciting and crappy as the recent Superman film.
